Mr. Schulte has worked with distinguished clients, including Chrysler and NFLPA. His most recent advisory experiences have included consulting for Idearc, USG, Recycled Paper Greeting and Adelphia Communications. He remains at the top of his field by maintaining affiliations with a number of industry organizations, including the Washington Bar Association. He has served as a board member of Broadway Stores, Inc., Fuel Systems Holdings LLC, Midway Airlines Corp., Nutramax Products, Inc., Phillips & Temro Holdings LLC, Revco D.S., Inc., Santa Fe Energy Resources, Inc., Scott Sports Group/Schwinn Bicycle Company, Sealy Corporation, and The Wellbridge Company. Through two investment funds, Chilmark invested in 14 companies and completed more than 25 acquisitions with a cumulative value of more than $7 billion. At the time of acquisition, most of these companies had overleveraged capital structures and were struggling. As owner, Chilmark regularly developed strategic and business plans, restructured balance sheets, raised financing to support the businesses, and acquired complementary businesses. The investment funds ultimately generated a 23% annual return for investors.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Schulte achieved a Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from Williams College in 1968 and went on to take postgraduate coursework at Exeter College at Oxford University. Later, he attended Yale University and achieved a JD and was Editor-In-Chief of the Yale Law Journal. He was admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. in 1973. Awarded in his career as a John E. Moody Scholar, Mr. Schulte was most recently honored by Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.
