A graduate of Light University, the Newspaper Institute of America, and a fiction writing school in Connecticut, Ms. Johnson has won a plethora of awards for her writing, including 28 Editor's Choice awards from the National Library of Poetry, an Editor's Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Famous Poets International, and distinction as a Poet of Merit from the International Society of Poets. Some of her more well-known compositions include "Heaven Awaits," "Our Gentle Giant," "My Husband, My Sons," and her personal favorite, "My Mama," which was written to celebrate the life of her mother. Her published works also include "A Penny for Your Thoughts," "Glory of Christmas," and "Anthology, Treasured Poems of America."
Ms. Johnson, who is active in civics, received a commission signed by former presidents Ford, Reagan and George H.W. Bush for lifetime contributions to the National Republican Party. She is a member of the National Association of Female Executives, the Peale Center for Christian Living, the International Society of Poets, the Famous Poets Society, the International Platform Association, the International Order of Merit, the National Writer's Club, and the National Authors' Registry. She has been also been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
