Prior to his recent positions, Mr. Taylor came to prominence in roles as a law clerk to the honorable Shirley M. Additionally, he was a shareholder of Chilvers & Taylor and partner of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco. To prepare for a career in law, Mr. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Yale University in 1970 and a JD from Harvard University in 1976. He is certified to practice law in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of the state. Additionally, Mr. Taylor is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Tax Court. Today, he remains at the head of his field through his involvement with industry organizations and legal publications. He has been a contributing editor to California Business Law Reporter since 1995, and previously served as editor-in-chief for the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, a member of the editorial board of the Northern District California Digest, and co-author of "California Antitrust Law." Mr. Taylor continues to be an active force within the ADR community through the American Arbitration Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Kaiser Office of the Independent Administrator arbitration panel, and the Litigation Counsel of America.
