Also revered for his academic influence, Dr. Speir has been a clinical professor of medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine since 2005. Previously, he was a professor of pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Speir is also a former member of the American Thoracic Society and the Southern Medical Association, and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
