EAST HAMPTON, NY, December 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rosa Scott has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Nearly five and a half decades ago, Ms. Scott started in the professional world as a secretary for Frank Hanna's Cleaning Company, where she stayed for 15 years, and as a cosmetologist for Rosa's Beauty Shop, where she worked for six years. After attending college for an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts, she switched professional directions, and became a lead teacher at East Hampton Day Care from 1992 until 1994 and again from 1997 to 1998. In 1994, she also became a substitute teacher at Lexington Schools; she still remains there today. Throughout the years, Ms. Scott has taken on many other teaching roles, including lead teacher at Suffolk County Community College Child Care Center, lead teacher of the after school program and substitute teacher at Springs School, substitute teacher at East Hampton School and, most recently, an after school program teacher at Montauk School, where she has been since 2014.
Ms. Scott maintains numerous memberships in the artistic arena on eastern Long Island during her spare time, including the East Hampton Artist Alliance, where she has been president since 2014, the Montauk Artists Association, where she has been president since 2010, and Long Island Black Artists, where she was president from 2006 until 2011. Two of her paintings appear in the movie, The Enchanted Cottage, which finished filming on November 1, 2016 in East Hampton, NY. She also enjoys giving back to her community through the Rockbridge Garden Club, Fine Arts of Rockbridge, and Friends of Lime Kiln.
Throughout her lengthy career, Ms. Scott has been named to a variety of publications, including the 20th through 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women, the sixth through eighth editions of Who's Who in American Education, and the 26th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southeast. She also received an honorable mention from Guild Hall in East Hampton in 2014. In the coming years, Ms. Scott intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career, as well as increase the time she spends with her family.
