He also associates with the Republic of Liberia, where he has been consul general since 2004, and the Economic Research Institute through the American Institute of Management Holdings, where he has worked as a senior director since 2003. Since 2012, he has been chairman of the board and founder of Sacred Circle Health Care, Inc., where they provide medical care services to Tribal members and other eligible patients. Some of his other current endeavors include chairman, CEO and director of special operations for Voip-Pal.com Inc., where he has been since 2013, Sawyer Technologies, where he has worked as president and manager since 2002, and Quadrant 4 Systems, where he has worked as director since 2010.
After starting in the field as a project engineer for Garrett Corp, where he stayed until 1960, Dr. Sawyer earned a Bachelor of Science from UCLA. At that point in time, he transferred to TRW Systems in the position of manager of development operations for six years. In this role, he was responsible for diverse engineering research, design, development and prototype production of aerospace systems, which included rocket engine combustion systems. For the following two years, he served as a special assistant to the governor for the state of California, during which time he was also pursuing a Master of Arts from Occidental College. A member of the American Society for Public Administration and the American Management Association, Dr. Sawyer then became the principal and general manager for Planning Research Corp, where he remained for three years, before starting a two-year stint as deputy director for the Office of Economic Opportunity in Washington, D.C. The next eight years of his storied career consisted of serving as associate professor of business management for Brigham Young University and president and chairman of the board for Mesa Corp. A shining example of skill in his field, he proceeded to accrue experience as the president and director for Sage Institute International, where he stayed for six years. With extensive experience in taking high-technology firms public, he then joined Private Telecommunications Networks Inc. as chairman of the board and CEO for a decade. More recently, he obtained a Ph.D. from Walden University, became chairman of the board for NeTrue Communications, and started work as chairman of the board and CEO for Telecom, Inc.

During his spare time, Dr. Sawyer enjoys giving back to his community as Chairman of the National Advisory Council on Indian Affairs (appointed by President Reagan), a Trustee of the College of Eastern Utah (appointed by Governor Leavitt), Chairman of Indian Affairs for Utah (appointed by Governor Matheson and reappointed by Governor Bangerter), and member of the National Advisory Council.
