She progressed in the advertising profession as an account director, advertising manager, and promotion writer for U.S. News and World Report. After retiring from advertising, Ms. Mahoney helped with internal logistics at National Red Cross in Washington, D.C. and Gallaudet University. She also enjoyed a successful career as a real estate consultant. In 1996, she became the first person ever hired by Angie's List, and was recently celebrated for 20 years of service. Beginning as a member service representative for Angie's List, she advanced through the company to the position of accounting clerk, truly embodying the definition of betterment. Ms. Mahoney is proud of her ability to excel in such a competitive field.
Ms. Mahoney also places great importance on service to her community, exemplified by her volunteer work at the First Baptist Church in Indianapolis and with the cancer support community. She also assists the visually impaired by reading literature over national public radio and television stations.
Ms. Mahoney is a former member of the Sleepy Hollow Cichlid Association, Friends of Chinn Park Regional Library, Prince William Symphony Orchestra, and the Prince William Voter Registration Board.
