Before establishing herself professionally, Dr. Emery prepared for her career by investing in her education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Chicago in 1962, a Master of Arts from Indiana University in 1973 and a Ph.D. from The University of Chicago in 1982. She is a licensed psychologist in the states of New Hampshire and Ohio.
