With more than 40 years of experience, Ms. Floret is widely regarded for her skills as an artist, photographer and former educator. In the fall of 2016, she participated in two professional juried shows: the Audubon Artists 74th Annual Exhibition, where she was awarded the Council of American Artists for Traditional Sculpture for her sculpture "Young Man" and The Allied Artists of America 103rd Annual Exhibition, where she was awarded The Dominic Ranieri Sculpture Casting Award for her sculpture "Maria." Actively involved in the art community, Ms. Floret is a general member of the American Society of Media Photographers and an elected member of Audubon Artists and Allied Artists. From 2011 to 2012, she was also a board member and sculpture director of the Audubon Artists.
Ms. Floret began her career upon receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University, although she also attended the National Academy School of Fine Arts, where she studied with Anthony Antonios and completed a three-year certification course. Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Floret has been continually called upon to share her expertise with the art community. During these lectures, she frequently presents both her own work and the work of her lifelong partner, John Dominis. In 2014, she delivered a lecture for a photography class at Parsons School of Design, where she focused mainly on her work in People Magazine and John Dominis' photographs in Life Magazine. In one of her most well-known lectures, she discusses her four favorite French sculptors.
In recognition of her contributions to the art world, Ms. Floret has received numerous awards, including the Elliot Liskin Memorial Award, which she received in 2000 and 2004 and the Audubon Artists Gold Medal of Honor. Since 2007, she has been featured in a wide variety of honors publications, including Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World. Ms. Floret was also included in the 27th and 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women. In addition to her career as a sculptor, she also designs and creates her own jewelry.
