YAKIMA, WA, March 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roger Wells has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Wells has led a long and successful career in the field of software engineering. Since 2005 until his retirement in 2016, he has worked as a computer process specialist for Boeing and recently became a data and system analyst. He was also a volunteer disaster responder for the company. Previous positions he has held include software evaluation engineer for Tektronix, Inc., computer engineer for Saudi Arabian Oil Co., software engineer for Conrac, Inc., software analyst for Lundy Financial Systems, senior project engineer for Illuminet, technical advisor for the Washington Service Corps and software builder for Volt. He worked in private practice for a brief period as well. To prepare for his career, Mr. Wells earned a Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College in 1971. He then went on to complete postgraduate coursework at The University of Texas at Austin, and received a Bachelor of Science at Oregon State University a few years later.
Mr. Wells has been included in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the Media and Communication, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World. In addition, he was the recipient of the grand prize for the R. L. Fanthorpe Write-Alike Contest in 2006. His other achievements include designing a software program to transfer billing records for regional telephone companies.
Still passionate about his field, Mr. Wells maintains membership with IEEE and ACM, Inc. He is also a member of the American Philatelic Society, DAV, the American Institute of Parliamentarians, the Fantasy Amateur Press Association, Mensa International, Toastmasters International and the Boeing Leadership Network Retirees, among others. In the past, he has served on the board of directors of the Lydia Whitney Foundation Inc., the Foundation for the Preservation of Science Fiction & Fantasy Memorabilia, and Oregon Science Fiction Conventions, Inc. and board of governors for the International Platform Association. He has also volunteered for AmeriCorps, PASCO, the American Red Cross and the Boeing Diversity Council.
