In total, Dr. McBride brings with her more than 33 years of professional experience in academia, during which time she has developed an expertise in multicultural education. In recognition of her professional excellence in her career, she was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the University of Evansville, who also profiled Dr. McBride in the October 2016 issue of the college's magazine entitled "The Crescent." Additionally, she received a Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching by United Methodist and she was asked to be a keynote speaker at the inauguration for students with a 3.4 or above GPA hosted by the International Society of Collegiate Scholars.
To prepare for a career in education, Dr. McBride invested her time and efforts into her own academic achievements. She attained a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and secondary education English from the University of Iowa in 1986, a master's degree in effective teaching from Drake University in 1997, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Indiana State University in 2006. She has remained at the top of her field through her professional affiliations with the International Society of Collegiate Scholars, where she is recognized as an honorary member, Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Kappa Iota, and Intercultural Development Inventory LLC, where she is a qualified administrator. As she looks to the future, Dr. McBride intends to continue working at the higher education level with aspirations of becoming an associate professor in the next five years. She also plans to take on new projects and opportunities in her field as they arise.
