Widely regarded as a psychologist, educator, linguist and insurance business owner, Dr. Gance has served Orange County College and CSU System. Since 1995, she has worked as a professor for numerous California state universities. She is also actively involved in the academic community, and is a member of the Fulbright Scholarship Society, National Dean's Honor Society and Lambda Alpha Honor Society, U.S. Certified Wine Sommelier Association, American Psychological Society, and Jungian Psychological Association. Deeply committed to the pursuit of continued education, Dr. Gance, OMD (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) from National University, holds a Ph.D. in psychology from Pacific Graduate Institute, Ph.D. in religion from the University of Sedona and Ph.D. in pastor psychology from the University of Claremont. Between 1986 and 1993, she received a Master of Arts in religious studies from CSU, Long Beach, as well as a Master of Arts in science education, Master of Arts in anthropology and Master of Arts in psychology from California State University. Further, Dr. Gance is licensed in professional counseling, and holds certifications in translation and interpretation.
Prior to beginning her career as an educator, Dr. Gance attended Jochi University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in international business. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in international business from Pepperdine University, and a Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. in oriental medicine from National University. Between 1984 to 1988, she held the position of legal secretary, translator and interpreter with Graham & James Law Firm in Los Angeles. Dr. Gance also served as an executive secretary with All Nippon Airways for five years. She has also served as a program support (intermittent) with the Federal Government Department of the Director of National Intelligence since 2006. A former Olympic gymnast (1972 Munich Olympics), she competed in all 4 categories. She has participated in 10 worldwide ballroom championships as well as a national ballet competition. Further, she authored several "Wisdom" related books since 2001.
