Supported by nearly six decades of practiced industry experience in education, Ms. Ames is thriving as both a teacher in the primary mental health program at Eastford Elementary School and as a substitute teacher. She joined Eastford Elementary after retiring from Killingly Central School in Dayville, Conn., where she worked for almost 40 years in the roles of teacher and mathematics resource teacher for kindergarten through fourth-grade students. Additionally, Ms. Ames serves as a presenter of mathematics workshops in Dayville, Conn.
An alumnus of the University of Connecticut, Ms. Ames holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science. She has also pursued postgraduate studies through Eastern Connecticut State University. Notably, she has authored two children's books, "Two Frogs on a Bike," which she published in 2014, and "Three Frogs in a Backpack", published in 2016. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, she has earned a number of accolades. In 1990 and 1993, the Federal & State Boards of Education bestowed upon her the Presidential Award in Mathematics. Since the late 1990s, Ms. Ames has also been featured in 12 editions of Who's Who in America, nine editions of Who's Who in the World, and four editions each of Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who of American Women.
