Mr. Usui, President of Satyuga Inc., started his professional business career in 1973 manufacturing hand-crafted women's wearing apparel in Bali, Indonesia. Around 1985, Satyuga Inc. transitioned out of women's clothing and began focusing on developing disruptive products related to e-commerce. In 2006, Mr. Usui created another company, Masktique LLC.
An alumnus of the University of Hawaii, Mr. Usui holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology, a Master of Education degree (Educational Foundation-Philosophy), and a professional fifth year diploma in Elementary Education. Mr. Usui also did post graduate work related to Buddhist psychology in 1974 at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, Colorado.
In 1974, Mr. Usui co-founded Situ Rimay Chuling (name later changed to Kagyu Thegchen Ling), a Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is also a co-founder of the Maitreya Institute and served as a Director for the Palpung Foundation.
Mr. Usui, since the late 80's, has been featured in many editions of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in Finance and Business, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
In his spare time, Mr. Usui enjoys spending quality time with his family and traveling to remote places in Asia, mainly countries in the Himalayas. He also enjoys tending to different types of gardens, koi ponds, an aviary and creative projects.
