For more than four decades, Ms. Drew excelled as a sociologist and case worker serving the state of California. Now retired, she met with success by committing her career to helping families and individuals from all walks of life. She concluded her career as chair of the sociology department and county management with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. Previously, she came to prominence within the organization as a case worker, a role that she held from 1978 to 2011. Other noteworthy roles held in Ms. Drew's career include clerical support for the Compton Unified School District, project coordinator for the California Tomorrow's Parent Education Leadership Development Project and member of the International Society of Exploration Teaching and Learning. In recognition of her professional excellence, Ms. Drew was the recipient of a certificate of achievement from the California Tomorrow's Parent Education Leadership Development Project. In addition, she was selected for inclusion into Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
Before establishing herself professionally, Ms. Drew prepared for her career by investing in her education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the California State University in Long Beach in 1983 and completed postgraduate coursework at the California Sate University in Dominguez Hills between 1988 and 1992. To stay at the top of her field, she is a member of the Dominguez Hills Gerontology Association and Alpha Kappa Delta. In addition, she has taken on career opportunities outside of her profession to increase her impact on her industry. As she looks to the future, Ms. Drew intends to continue enjoying retirement while taking on new projects and opportunities as they arise.
