ATHENS, WI, May 23, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jean A. Balz has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After accruing more than two and a half decades of practiced industry experience, Ms. Balz retired from her role as a physician's assistant in 2011. From 1975 to 1981, she served on active duty with the U.S Navy, traveling to Oakland CA and Bethesda, MD. Upon her discharge from active duty, she joined the Naval Reserve and retired after 20 years in 2001. She became a certified operating room assistant through the Mid-State Technical College and took part in the student physician assistant program and served as a research assistant at the University of Wisconsin, which she attended from 1981 to 1984. She then finished her schooling at Cornell University Medical College in New Your City, graduating in 1986. Subsequently, she served as a physician's assistant for Fargo Clinic-MeritCare, Gundersen Clinic, and Marshfield Clinic before she retired. She also used her experience to contribute to many research papers in the field over the course of her career.
During her spare time, Ms. Balz participates as a member of the church council at Trinity Lutheran Church, as a member and secretary/treasurer of the Athens Area Development Corporation, and as volunteer leader with the Girls Scouts. She also acts as caretaker for both Athens Cemetery Association and Trinity Cemetery Association. She has worked part time with Color Vision Ltd. since 2012. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, Ms. Balz was honored with inclusion in Who's Who in Young American Professionals, six volumes of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and three volumes of Who's Who of American Women.
