Ann Monroe Dinger Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

    GREAT FALLS, VA, June 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Ann Monroe Dinger a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Ms. Dinger celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Dinger is an interior design consultant and association executive who has been instrumental in numerous civic and historical societies. Her particular expertise is decorating in the colonial style, and she is very proud of owning a Williamsburg Reproduction home which has been her residence since 1986. Ms. Dinger also takes great pride in her good friends, whom she accrued over many years of devoted community service.

Born to Hoke Jefferson and Florence Parsons Monroe, Ms. Dinger always wanted to be an art teacher, and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in education and art from the Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia in Fredericksburg, Va. She was certified to teach in that state and served in Alexandria Public Schools from 1958 to 1961 as an art teacher. In 1958, Ms. Dinger also initiated a private interior design consultancy, through which she helped to beautify homes.

Ms. Dinger has been a well-known personality in the Virginia area, and notably served as the hospitality chairman of Newcomers in Great Falls from 1987 to 1988, the floral chairman of Ashlawn Highland, President James Monroe's Country Home in Charlottesville from 1982 to 1986, as well as the chair of the D.C. Embassy Tour presented by the Alexandria Junior Women's Club. From 1967 to 1968 Ms. Dinger was a docent of the Robert E. Lee Boyhood Home in Alexandria. She is a Life Member of the Clan Munro Association, U.S.A. Ms. Dinger served as a director and President of that organization and currently serves on an advisory group to the Board of that organization which exists to preserve Scottish Heritage in America. She belongs to the Great Falls Historical Society, as well as the Great Falls Citizens' Association. Additionally, Ms. Dinger served as Fellowship Committee Chairman at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in McLean, Va. during which she helped design and oversee construction of a new kitchen facility for that Church.

Ms. Dinger is also proud of supporting her husband, Donald Brackett Dinger, with whom she has had a daughter, Lynn Ann Dinger Edmonds and is the proud grandparent of two grandchildren and a new great grandbaby. Ms. Dinger was instrumental in activities with Mr. Dinger's alma mater, The George Washington University, where he earned two graduate engineering degrees and serves on the National Advisory Council to the Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Mr. Dinger served both as a civilian executive in the U.S. Department of Army and a consultant to the U.S. defense industry for many years. He was inducted into the school's Engineering Hall of Fame in 2012. He is deeply appreciative of his wife's support in this achievement.

For services to her community and to the arts, Ms. Dinger was selected for inclusion in two volumes of Who's Who in America in 2006 and 2009, the 2006 volume of Who's Who in the World, and four volumes of Who's Who of American Women from 2004 to 2009. She enjoys antiquing, gardening, and travel.
