NEW YORK, NY, June 29, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Thomas E. Hoover a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Thomas Hoover celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With five decades of professional experience under his belt, Dr. Hoover currently excels as a writer. In his mid-20s, he went to Japan, after completing a PhD in chemistry, and was fascinated by the effects of Zen stone gardens. He asked for Japanese scholars to explain what was happening, and was told that a Westerner could never truly understand. From that day forward, he attempted to do just that. While he was working for Parsons Brinckerhoff as a senior vice president, he spent his days and nights learning all he could about the topic, but with little success. After many years, someone at a publishing house noticed that although Dr. Hoover started out writing a book about Japan as a whole, the executed work focused more on the concept of Zen. He rebranded the book as "Zen Culture," and experienced what one might deem as overnight success.
The success of "Zen Culture" allowed him to continue writing successfully. Soon after his first book, he wrote "The Zen Experience," which Library Journal called "the best history of Zen ever written." Over the years, he asked his agent how to make a living doing what he loved, and she suggested he begin writing fiction as well. Since then, he has written "The Mogul," a vivid romantic adventure set in India, "Caribbee," a historically-factual novel that was painstakingly researched, and "Syndrome," a thriller about the dangerous nature of stem cells. In addition, he has written other novels including "Life Blood," "The Samurai Strategy," "Project Daedalus," "Project Cyclops," and "The Touchdown Gene."
Nearly all of his work can be downloaded in e-book form for free through www.thomashoover.com. With several commercial and critical successes throughout his career, Dr. Hoover has been awarded many times for his work in the field, including two features in Who's Who in America.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Thomas Hoover has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
