MINATO, JAPAN,July 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Dr. Yukitaka Danjo a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Danjo celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Since 1987, Dr. Danjo has been working as a preeminent doctor of ophthalmology in Japan, healing and improving the eyesight of his patients, as well as a professor and researcher in the Osaka area and abroad. His research work has touched on the effects of Sjogren's syndrome as well as the role of calcium in the proper function of the eye. The highlight of Dr. Danjo's professional career was having the opportunity to visit Harvard University to conduct research, which has helped him to further his career and understand the broader scope of medicine.
In 1962, Dr. Danjo was born to Takanobu and Yoshiko Danjo in the city of Fukuyama, one of the largest in the Hiroshima prefecture. Dr. Danjo grew up with a passion for the medical arts, and in high school, he read a book about people who lived in remote areas, like the isolated islands off the coast of the main islands of Japan, who were not able to receive proper medical care. This inspired him to study hard in hopes of visiting and helping patients living in hard-to-reach areas, and in 1983, he received a Bachelor of Science from Osaka University. In 1987, he earned an MD from his alma mater and conducted his residency at the Osaka University Medical School from 1987 to 1989. He became an assistant surgeon at Osaka Seamen's Insurance Hospital until 1991, when he accepted a post as instructor with the Osaka National Hospital.
In 1996, he returned to Osaka University as an assistant professor, which opened the door for him to visit Harvard Medical School and conduct research at the Schepens Eye Research Institute as a fellow. Some of his research involves tracking the methods by which an eye heals itself, promising a greater understanding of one of the most delicate parts of the body. Dr. Danjo returned to Osaka Seamen's Insurance Hospital, now renamed Osaka Minato Central Hospital, to become a director in 2000, and still serves patients there today.
Dr. Danjo is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in the New York Academy of Science. For his achievements in eye care and international renown, he was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World, as well as two volumes of Who's Who in Finance and Industry from 2001 to 2003 and two volumes of Who's Who in Asia in 2007 and in 2012. He has two children, and enjoys fishing.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Danjo has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
