For more than four decades, Ms. Alexander has excelled in the field of fine art as a stone sculptor. Since the mid-1970s, she has exhibited her work all over the country, beginning with one of her very first exhibitions at the Southeastern Artists Georgia Jubilee Festival, where she won the First in Sculpture Award in 1974. From there, she exhibited her art at the Southeastern Arts & Crafts Festival, the World's Fair in Knoxville, Tenn., the David Schaeffer Gallery in Georgia, and the Georgia Marble Festival. In addition to exhibitions in the southern United States, she has also shown her work in numerous New York-based galleries, including the Ariel Gallery and the Pen & Brush Sculpture Exhibition. Some of her permanent collections are located in the Cincinnati Public Library, the Coca-Cola International Headquarters, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Prior to her professional involvement in the field, Ms. Alexander pursued artistic studies through the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Atlanta College of Art. Her professional affiliations include the National Museum of the American Indian, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the National Women's History Museum. Notably, she was presented with the Artfest Award by Habitat for Humanity for her professional accomplishments. Additionally, she has been featured in 15 editions of Who's Who in America, the 25th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and seven editions of Who's Who of American Women.
