Ms. Crawford graduated with honors from the University of Illinois and the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. Ms. Crawford's experiences with health insurance have also led her to write much-celebrated guides toward the Sisyphean task of quitting smoking. Innumerable readers lives have been changed for the better by these books. In 2005, Ms. Crawford authored "Smoking: 201 Reasons to Quit" which became an instant hit. This book was a slew of awards, including the 2009 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award, the New England Book Festival Award, and the Nashville Book Festival Award. This book has been translated into Chinese to assist the millions of Chinese smokers to quit their dangerous habit. In 2013, Ms. Crawford authored a sequel called "Smoking: Why to Quit, How to Quit, How to Keep Kids from Smoking." These volumes present well-researched reasons to quit smoking, and the many ways people have found to quit smoking, all in plain language, making the books empowering.
Ms. Crawford is descended from mayflower ancestors and Revolutionary Patriots, and is a member og the Mayflower Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Last, but not least, she is the mother of three children.
