Born in New York to Mathew and Frances Crisci, Mr. Crisci studied at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, to earn a B.A. in English literature in 1963. Although the subject of writing was always a goal, Mr. Crisci delved into advertising and business at Young & Rubicam, Inc, emerging as a senior vice president splitting his time between New York City and Sydney, Australia. He served as an executive for many years, but left in 1982 to help found the Board of Integrated Barter International at NASDAQ, which helped to remarket excess consumer and industrial inventories. In the '90s, Mr. Crisci worked as an executive for a string of firms, including Chiat/Day, Lowe Lintas Worldwide, Alton Entertainment, and Asset Marketing Systems. High profile clients included Unilever, Sara Lee and Bristol Myers Squibb.
In 2007, Mr. Crisci established his own private consultancy firm and devoted more attention to public engagements, historical research, and cultural activism. He is the founder of the Friends of Russia Society in Washington, a member of the Russian Cultural Center in Memphis, Tennessee, a recipient of the U.S. Defense Attache Award in Moscow, and was honorably discharged as a non-commissioned officer of the U.S. Army. Mr. Crisci has spoken at venues such as the United Nations, the Russian Cultural Center, the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, and the American Embassy and Cultural Center for Democracy in Moscow. He still serves with Iona College's board of directors today.
Mr. Crisci's literary work ranges from historical fiction to literary fiction, with several novels devoted to the Russian everyday life, heroes, and culture.
