Since 1998, Dr. Jeon has served as a researcher and professor in the field of applied chemistry in electronics, and notably served with the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology as a senior researcher developing Samsung's liquid crystals display (LCD). He offered technology consulting to Hanwha Polydreamer in Seoul and to Samsung Electronics in Suwon City, Korea. Dr. Jeon is a professor of chemistry at Konkuk University, and was named one of the 2012, 2014, and 2017 Top 100 Scientists by the International Biographical Center.
Born to Chang Gon Jeon and Mal Nyu Baek in Seoul in 1958, Dr. Jeon studied chemistry at Konkuk University in Seoul and earned a PhD in 1991. He had already been working at Samsung since 1988, and continued to do so until 1995, when he became a professor of chemistry at his alma mater. Dr. Jeon's particular expertise is in the production of polymer dispersed liquid crystal displays, of which he has contributed to numerous studies in professional journals. From 2005 to 2006, he became director of the national liquid crystal display section at Center Org in Korea. In 2006, he accepted a position as a senior adjunct professor at the University of Ballarat in Australia, where he stayed until 2011. Concurrently, he also served as provost of public and international affairs for Konkuk University, a position he held from 2007 to 2013.
Dr. Jeon holds several patents in the field of liquid crystal display technology and is a member of the Society of Information Display as well as the Korean Chemical Society. He was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in the World, as well as the 2012 volume of Who's Who in Asia.
