BIG FORK, MT, August 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Nancy Melissa Harvey a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Ms. Harvey celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Harvey is a prolific poet with a fondness for haiku, as well as a beloved high school teacher in Montana who taught media and arts for 23 years. She has contributed poetry to numerous anthologies and Montana arts magazines for most of her life, and in 2000, she released a collection of poetry titled "Bluffs." In 2014, cold case detectives cracked the mystery of the 1988 homicide of Ms. Harvey's daughter Renee, producing an arrest and conviction. Ms. Harvey is in the process of writing a manuscript to document the case for posterity, and to honor the detectives who never gave up looking for her daughter's killer.

Born in Atlanta to Alfred Alonzo and Helen Rosella Ettinger, Ms. Harvey was first published at the age of 14, which inspired her to continue pursuing writing. Early in her career, she wrote for newspapers, and attended the University of Montana to earn a Bachelor of Arts in 1957. That year, she married Dale Gene Harvey, and the couple had three children, Howard Russell, Andrew Dale, and Renee Jeannine. Today, Ms. Harvey is very happy to be blessed with two wonderful grandchildren, Julia and Nicholas Harvey.

Ms. Harvey devoted herself to her children, and in 1971, she entered teaching at the Flathead High School in Montana as a media specialist and librarian. She taught for eight years before she went on to Cut Bank High School in Montana as a librarian and art teacher. While teaching, Ms. Harvey contributed to Arts in Montana and Montana Arts magazine, as well as to the quarterly publication Poetry Today. From 2011 to 2012, she was published in Back Porch Magazine. She is the recipient of a 1973 Mary Brenna Clapp Poetry Award from the Montana Arts Foundation, as well as 1985 and 1987 Montana Committee for the Humanities grants. Ms. Harvey has supported the Big Fork Arts & Cultural Center, and is affiliated with the Montana Retired Educators, the American Association of University Women, the Montana Genealogy Society, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Phi Kappa Phi.

For dedication to the craft of writing and a luminary teaching career, Ms. Harvey was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who of American Women, four volumes of Who's Who in America, the 2004 to 2005 volume of Who's Who in American Education, the 2000 to 2001 volume of Who's Who in the West, and the 2007 volume of Who's Who in the World. Ms Harvey enjoys music, painting, creative writing, and photography.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Harvey has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
