An accomplished listee, Mr. Pearlson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Pearlson is an extraordinary scientist, researcher and corporate executive who made his entrance into the technological limelight at the start of the millennium developing the first wireless live video streaming systems and vast scale visual information systems, an achievement capped with his founding of Sequent Technologies. He was awarded an honorary LHD in 1997 from West Coast University in Los Angeles for his achievements, and went on to work in digital communications with public and private firms vital to defense, public communications, and business management. Mr. Pearlson is the current chief executive officer of Ranger Scientific and Aegis Defense Research.

An LA native, Mr. Pearlson was born to Robert Mitchell and Bertha Pearlson in 1957, and was named 1984 Outstanding Young Man of America in 1984 by U.S. Jaycees. He led Novatel Computer Systems from 1986 to 1992 as chief executive & technology officer, transitioning to the Advanced Research Institute in LA as executive director. At Sequent, Mr. Pearlson produced the first research in voiceover statistical network technology and the invention of television quality internet streaming for distance education. He also developed a video resilience method for ultra-low bit rate transmission, and invented an autonomous mesh network transmission system as well as the first mobile digital video recorder with wireless file transfer.

In 1994, Mr. Pearlson founded Votan Research Corporation, serving as its president and CEO. The company developed advanced technologies for law enforcement and military applications licensed to the Raytheon Company, as well as sole-sourced video telemetry systems for the US Air Force, military grade hardened high-power solid-state servers, and national security infrastructures in South Africa. Votan operated non-defense related subsidiaries in Johannesburg, South Africa and Kiev, Ukraine.

From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Pearlson served as CTO of Youbet.com, contributing to what was then the world's highest traffic live IP unicast video subscription service. Mr. Pearlson later took Sequent Technologies public as Global ePoint to NASDAQ for public trading as successful companies. In 2010, he accepted the role of CTO to oversee wireless data telemetry for Operation Golden Phoenix, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's simulation of a nuclear detonation in the San Fernando Valley area of LA. Mr. Pearlson coordinated between every government entity in the region, including the Department of Defense, the U.S. Coast Guard, the FBI, the Federa Emergency Management Agency, the Laurence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. It was an incredible showcase of the capabilities of vast scale information systems.

In addition to his capacity as a scientific executive, Mr. Pearlson has also volunteered with the California State University as an advanced technology team leader, and has consulted with the City of LA department of telecommunications in fiber infrastructure. He has served as a consultant to AT&T, the Jet Propulsion Laboratories, the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Lockheed, the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and the County of Los Angeles Department of Workplace Programs. For his remarkable achievements as a scientist, researcher, and corporate executive, Mr. Pearlson was selected for inclusion in two volumes of Who's Who in the World in 2008 and 2009.
