He currently serves in the capital city of Seoul as professor of industrial and management engineering at Hansung University, and is the former dean of the university's College of Engineering. Additionally, Dr. Jeong has contributed to ergonomics abroad as a visiting scholar in 2002 with Oregon State University.
Born to Han Jo Jeong and Hyung Soon Hur in 1962, Dr. Jeong is a native to Seoul and attended Korea University to study industrial engineering. He earned a Bachelor's degree in 1984 and went on to the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) for a Master's degree in 1986, joining Hansung University in 1990 as a professor. He was made chairman of industrial engineering in 1992, and chairman of industrial safety engineering in 1993. Dr. Jeong completed a PhD from KAIST in 1995, and in 1999, Hansung appointed him dean of the graduate school of safety and health management. He served from 2005 to 2006 as director of the Engineering Research Center at Hansung, and from 2010 to 2012, he served as dean of the College of Engineering.
Dr. Jeong has analyzed such topics as the contour representation of sway in body balance and a variety of postural disorders, as well as workplace accidents and work-related illnesses. His work seeks to understand the behavior of the human body and human habits, and how best to design environments to enhance safety. Dr. Jeong has served with the Korea Society of Ergonomics and from 2006 to 2007, he worked as an editor with the Journal of the Ergonomics Society of Korea. He is the author of "Modern Work Management" in 2015, "Modern Ergonomics" in 2014, and "Design and Ergonomics" in 2012.
For dedication to ergonomic engineering, Dr. Jeong was selected for inclusion in seven volumes of Who's Who in the World from 1997 to 2016, and two volumes of Who's Who in Asia in 2007 and 2012. He is married to Myung Han Kim, with whom he has two children, Ji Hyun Jeong and Ju Hyun Jeong.
