Widely regarded for her skill as a health service innovator, Ms. Quinn began a career in health care upon becoming a Registered Nurse with Boston City Hospital. Early in her career, she served as a pediatric staff nurse with the hospital. Ms. Quinn later joined Rancocas Valley Hospital, where she filled a variety of diverse roles between 1967 and 1978, including staff nurse, coronary care nurse, supervisor, patient education coordinator and director of nursing service. During this time, Ms. Quinn pursued a Bachelor of Arts at Glassboro State College, which she received in 1977. She went on to complete a Master of Arts at Central Michigan University in 1982.
In 1978, Ms. Quinn joined Washington Memorial Hospital as an assistant administrator. This role led to further leadership roles in the health care industry, including as the president of her own consultancy. From 1983 to 1984, Ms. Quinn served as the manager of nursing services with United Health Services, Inc. She rose to the rank of director of management services and professional standards, a role she held for six years before transitioning into a position with American Healthcare Management Inc. as a director of professional services. In 1994, Ms. Quinn accepted a position as the senior vice president of professional affairs with Primary Health Systems, Inc. She held this position for three years before founding Touch Ministry Compassionate Massage in 1998.
Best known for Touch Ministry Compassionate Massage, Ms. Quinn continues to work with seniors in a very caring and gentle way. Throughout the course of her career, she has worked with AIDS patients and even wrote a poem inspired by her experiences entitled, "The Mercy of Touch." One of her proudest moments occurred in December 1993, when INC magazine named her boss the Entrepreneur of the Year for the biggest turnaround of the company. Ms. Quinn was named as a member of the team to receive this honor. At the time, she was performing quantitative analyses on quality that significantly improved patient care as well as being cost effective.
Ms. Quinn has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World. In addition, she was selected for inclusion in the 5th edition of Who's Who in American Nursing, as well as the 1st, 3rd and 8th editions of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
Ms. Quinn maintains active involvement with Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, Common Cause, Amnesty International, Green America, Bread for World, Cleveland Heights Seniors, Cleveland Museum of Art, Dobama Theatre and Sigma Iota Epsilon. In addition, she is a caring hands volunteer with the Cleveland Heights Senior Center.
