He is best known for the development of a computer simulation system for dental education, and has supported international efforts in the advancement of dentistry. Dr. Nakajima was a notable visiting professor to the National University of Laos, in the country's capital of Vientiane.
Born in Yokohama, Japan, to Yukako and Kazuo Nakajima in 1957, Dr. Nakajima was certified with a diploma for dentistry by the Ministry of Health of Japan in 1981. Four years later, he received an honorary PhD in dentistry from the Nihon University Graduate School. He has served as a specialist with the Japanese Association of Pediatrics Dentistry, and led the organization as director from 2005 to 2007.
In 2004, Dr. Nakajima joined the council of the Japan Association of Dental Traumatology, returning in 2007. Dr. Nakajima was awarded a grant in 2004 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology and in 2007 he joined the ministry's University Project for Cooperative International Development. Additionally, Dr. Nakajima is a member of the Japan Society of Personality Psychology. He has served in a professorial capacity with Nihon University since 2011. In 2016, Dr. Nakajima founded the general incorporated association "Healthcare Network" for promotion of telemedicine in developing countries and became the representative director.
For advancements in the education of dentistry, Dr. Nakajima was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in the World from 2009 to 2015. He is married to Yumiko Nakajima, and has one child. Dr. Nakajima enjoys travel, taking walks, and dance.
