HAMDEN, CT, August 29, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Richard T. Pilchen a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Mr. Pilchen celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
For many fast food enthusiasts the Subway franchise is one that is well-known and beloved, but for Mr. Pilchen it's a way of life. Indeed, he was Subway's very first employee, and he has worked nearly every single job involved in the operation of the franchise -- from making sandwiches to securing a place for the brand name in the 1996 Adam Sandler film "Happy Gilmore," to local store marketing. He is also currently a franchisee who owns four Subway locations with a business partner in Western Massachusetts and serves on the area's advertising board.
Mr. Pilchen's expertise is in marketing, and Subway is one of the fastest-growing food chains in the world. In December 2016, Subway was recorded to own 44,882 restaurants in 112 countries. It is the largest single-brand restaurant chain and largest restaurant operator in the world. Mr. Pilchen's primary responsibility with the franchise is to consult with markets regarding programs to individually increase sales. He has been with the company, which is owned by Doctor's Associates, for over 50 years, and he notes that he became involved in his profession directly due to his experience in advertising, marketing, sales, and public relations. Throughout his career, Mr. Pilchen has demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and leadership. He attributes his success to his ability to set goals and follow through to the finish. Looking ahead, he aspires to own three more Subway franchises and help promote the growth of the chain.
Over the course of Mr. Pilchen's professional career, he has been involved with the process of product placement for Subway in several notable films. He began his professional journey as a disc jockey, promoting rock bands and funding professional models. Often, he is invited to give speeches at local area colleges and marketing seminars. For Subway, Mr. Pilchen participated in coursework in graphic design. In fact, he is responsible for creating the businesses' first logo.
After officially retiring from the headquarters team a couple of years ago, Mr. Pilchen still enjoys traveling around the world. He has been an active member of The Actor's Fund and often attends shows both in New York and locally. He is periodically a volunteer for charity functions.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Pilchen has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
