A registered professional engineer in New Jersey and Maryland, Mr. Freeman provided his field with unparalleled skills and knowledge from 1959 to his retirement in 2007, a career spanning nearly 50 years. Passionate about excelling in his professional area, Mr. Freeman earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami in 1955. This accomplishment was soon followed by a Master of Engineering Administration from George Washington University in 1966 as well as an honorary Doctor of Science from the London Institute in 1977.
In 1959, Mr. Freeman started out as a member of the technical staff for Bell Telephone Laboratories, a position which he kept until 1961. He then served as manager of the engineering department for the IIT Research Institute until 1968, and director of the engineering department of Vertex Corporate Services until 1969. Due to his commitment to professional perseverance, he then co-founded Sachs/Freeman Associates, Inc. (SFA) as president, chairman and chief executive officer. In addition to his career-related endeavors, Mr. Freeman served with the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1959. He served as President of Congregation Nevey Shalom in Bowie, MD from 1973 to 1974. His long term dedication to People-to-People International was recognized in 2014 when he received the organization's International Leadership Award. He also serves on the Engineering Advisory Board of the University of the District of Columbia.
Due to his occupational accomplishments, Mr. Freeman was awarded the Bausch & Lomb award in 1951, along with the Electro Best Session award in 1976. He maintains involvement with numerous relevant organizations, among them the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (Life Fellow) the Washington Academy of Science (Emeritus Fellow) the American Technion Society where he serves on the Board of Directors and with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Extremely knowledgeable about engineering, he has written and contributed to a number of books, including Electromagnetic Compatibility Design Guide and Interference Suppression Techniques for Antennas and Transmitters.
