Dr. Taniguchi is an engineer and educator who began his career in higher education in 1964 as a research associate at Osaka University. Nearly a decade later, he accepted a position at Fukui University, where he remained for 27 years, first as an associate professor, then as a full professor. In 2000, he retired from the university, and worked in consulting for another four years.
Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Taniguchi was a mechanical designer for Osaka Gear Works of Japan until 1956 when he enlisted in the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force. Advancing through the grades to first lieutenant, he resigned in 1964, the same year that he completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Kinki University Night School. By 1972, he had completed a Doctorate in engineering at Osaka University.
Recognized as an honorary professor at Xi'an University of Technology in 1996 and at Fukui University in 2000, Dr. Taniguchi has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Asia, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in Finance and Business for his accomplishments, He is also an inventor of 26 patents in his field, has contributed 150 technical papers to professional journals and proceedings, and has authored 21 books, including: "Introduction to Signal Processing"; "Microwave Circuits Smith Chart"; and "How to Write Technical Reports in English: 100 Basic and Effective Practical Sentences".
