A Supervising Chemist for the Orange County Water District in Fountain Valley, California since 1984, Mr. Davis supervises staff members, manages changes to the legacy LIMS database, performs instrumental analysis of water samples, and serves as Chemical Hygiene Officer and manages hazardous waste disposal for the Advanced Water Quality Assurance Laboratory. He has also assisted the District's Public Affairs staff with educational installations, tours and social media initiatives. He joined the water district in 1977 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, Irvine in 1974, first working as a Laboratory Analyst, and then as a Chemist. Mr. Davis returned to college part-time to earn a Master of Public Administration degree at California State University, Long Beach in 1983. He earned a certification in Facilities Management from the University of California, Irvine in 2006.
Mr. Davis has authored research papers in the field of instrumental analytical chemistry in conjunction with his professional employment. He is a member of Mensa, Intertel, the Triple Nine Society, and Toastmasters International, where he has served as Club President and Area and Division Director, earning the Distinguished Toastmaster designation in 2010. Mr. Davis was named the Laboratory Person of the Year by the Santa Ana River Basin Section of the California Water Environment Association in 1984. He has also been named to more than 20 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
The father of two sons, Andrew Jeremy Davis and Christopher Peter Davis, Mr. Davis is a member of St. James Anglican Church in Costa Mesa. He appeared as a contestant on the long-running television game show Jeopardy! in 2001.
