Enjoying two very different roles in two very different industries during the course of her career, Ms. Greene-Karlan first started out in design, spending 47 years mastering her expertise in the heart of New York City, New Jersey, and Paris, from 1959 to 2006. Working her way up from an assistant designer to head designer to vice president of design and merchandising, she was employed with various companies, including Lynne Greene Designs Retail, Lady Lynne Lingerie, and Val Mode by Lynne Greene. During her years designing under the label, Lady Lynne Lingerie, Lynne designed and manufactured for the original Victoria's Secret Catalogue and later, the Stores and created the lingerie for Guy LaRoche, New York and Paris and Intimates for Nina Ricci, NY and Paris. By the time she had semi-retired from the field in 1999, she was already beginning a new venture as the president, owner, and wellness consultant of Vital Advantage, LLC, in Bethlehem, PA, which she still actively oversees to this day. She is also an artist and designer for Little Greene Apples Inc.
While designing/merchandising actively in the lingerie/fashion clothing field, Ms. Greene spent 6 years as a lingerie critic for Pratt Institute. She has illustrated several books for various authors, as well as pamphlets in the fashion and packaging fields. Ms. Greene was also a commercial artist and illustrator for Home & Office Design, and she holds numerous patents in the field of fashion.
Active as a member of Powerful You! Women's Executive Network, The Fashion Group, the 200 Club of N.J., and Kiwanis, where she served as president for two years, Ms. Greene-Karlan was named Kiwanian of the Year from 2002-2003. Ms. Greene-Karlan also received several other accolades in recognition of her work. She was named Designer of the Year by the French Lace Council 1975, 1980 to 1981, received a Humanitarian Award for her Polar Bear Project by Nikken Inc. in 2003, and was the recipient of a Legend Morris County Award by the N.J. State Legislation and Chamber of Commerce for 2010-2011. She was also highlighted in dozens of editions of Who's Who since 1988, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
Married to Stanley E. Greene for 25 years until his passing in 1987, Ms. Greene-Karlan found love again and married Michael Alan Karlan in 1991. She has one son, Stuart Nathaniel Greene.
