Mr. Furlotti is a real estate and investment executive who served as the president of Quorum Funds and Quorum Properties in Los Angeles until 2013. He initially trained as a lawyer in California, and is still admitted to practice in the state. In 2006, Mr. Furlotti founded the Furlotti Family Foundation and served as an officer and director of ir until 2013. In 2016, Mr. Furlotti founded the Alexander Furlotti Foundation, building on his ongoing role as a civic philanthropist in California.
Born to Amato and Polonia Concepcion Furlotti in 1948, Mr. Furlotti arrived in the U.S. as a boy and studied economics with the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to earn a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1973, and joined the law firm of Alexander, Inman, Kravetz and Tanzer in Beverly Hills, California. Mr. Furlotti became a partner with the firm in 1978, serving a total of seven years with the company. In 1981, he joined as a partner with Kravetz and Furlotti in Century City, California. As a lawyer, Mr. Furlotti practiced real estate law, and grew familiar with the industry. In 1984, he became the president of Quorum Properties, a residential developer, in Los Angeles, and in 2000, he became president of Quorum Funds, managing investments and developing real estate in California. Currently, he is the President of Aeneas Enterprises, LLC, an investment company.
As a member of the California real estate community for many years, Mr. Furlotti is a member of the Urban Land Institute, as well as the American Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Furlotti has served as a trustee of the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, the Yosemite National Institute in San Francisco, and director of the Los Angeles Opera Company.
Mr. Furlotti is the recipient of numerous awards, most recently with a nomination to the 2004 Pillars of Industry Award by the National Association of Homebuilders, where he placed as a finalist. He previously won a 1998 Residential Project of the Year Award, a 1997 Best Attached Housing Award, a 1997 Platinum Award, a 1993 Grand Award from the National Association of Home Builders, 1993 and 1998 Golden Nugget Awards, as well as 1993 and 1998 Grand Awards from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference. He was accepted as a member of the Beach Club, the California Club, the Bohemian Club, and the St. Francis Yacht Club.
Mr. Furlotti was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who in the World, as well as the 2009 to 2010 volume of Who's Who in Finance and Business and the 1998 to 1999 volume of Who's Who in Finance and Industry. He is the father of Michael Alexander, Patrick Swift, and Allison Nicole.
