Luigi Jannuzzi Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

An award-winning playwright, Mr. Jannuzzi's one-act plays include "Bench at the Edge," published in 1982, "The Barbarians are Coming" of 1986, "The Appointment" of 1996, and "With or Without You" of 1997. His full-length plays include "Night of the Foolish Moon," published in 1999, and "For the Love of Juliet!," published in 2004. He also authored "Exhibit This! The Museum Comedies" in 2008, and "All the King's Women" in 2009, both of which consist of multiple one-acts and monologues. His comic monologue "Anthem" was also featured on National Public Radio in 1999.

Mr. Jannuzzi's one-act play, "Bench at the Edge" received numerous awards, grants, fellowships, and commendations from around the world. It was the featured play by the Ohio Educational Theatre Association State Conference in 2004; it won Grand Prize by the Drama League of Ireland in 1982; it was the winner of the 6th Samuel French Play Contest in 1981; and he was commended for the play with the New Jersey State Council of the Arts Fellowship in 1987. "The Barbarians are Coming" received the 1986 Goshen College Playwriting Peace Prize. He won the Samuel French One-Act Competition in 1995 for "The Appointment," "With or Without You" in 1996, and in 1981 for "A Bench at the Edge." He also received the National Endowment for the Humanities Grants from multiple institutions, including Rutgers University in 2000, Columbia University in 1998, the University of Vermont in 1995, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation in 2001 and 1995, and the Walt Whitman Cultural Arts Center in 2001 and a 2007-09 James Madison residency grant at Princeton University. Just a few of his other achievements include the 2016 and 2001 Scottish Community Drama Association Grand Prize Trophy for Best Play in Scotland; Grand Prize winner of the Ontario Drama League Festival in 2009; and he was a Perry Award Winner for Best Play in 2006. His movie A Bench At the Edge was presented at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival, a Two time finalist at the O'Neill Theatre Conference (1998 & 2000), the 2001 Grand Prize Howard De Walden Trophy for Best Play in the United Kingdom and the 2017 NYU-Pirandello Society of America play award. Mr. Jannuzzi's plays are published by Samuel French Inc. Mr. Jannuzzi has been featured in Who's Who in America, editions 59 to 70.

Mr. Jannuzzi is a member of the Dramatists and Authors Guild and the Metropolitan Theatre Company. In addition to his career in entertainment, he also served as an honors English, drama, and creative writing teacher at Immaculata High School in Somerville, New Jersey from 1978 to 2012.

Mr. Jannuzzi is the son of Louis and Virginia Jannuzzi. He recently celebrated his 30 year wedding anniversary. He and his wife have two children together: Louis III and Mark.
