In central Georgia, one attorney has devoted her life to giving back to her community and advocating for a cause she believes in. To friends and family, Ms. White is affectionately "Sarah Liz," but to her clients at the personal injury law firm of Westmoreland, Patterson, Moseley and Hinson, she is the lawyer making a positive difference in their lives. "I was in third grade when I decided I wanted to be an attorney," said Ms. White for her local Coffee County Magazine. "I've never thought twice about the decision."
The late Stuart White and Dr. Elizabeth White were both teachers when they had Ms. White in Douglas, Georgia. Ms. White decided to pursue a different career, majoring in political science and agribusiness with the University of Georgia. She earned a BA, magna cum laude, and went on to a JD with the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
Though she had the option of working in Atlanta, Ms. White chose to stay in Macon, specializing in insurance litigation for the early part of her career. She developed an interest in social security law, and traveled across the southeast of the U.S. to handle cases involving disability and supplemental security income for adults, widows, widowers, and children. Ms. White often meets clients who are in dire straits after being denied Social Security benefits, and she finds the moment she can help to be incredibly rewarding.
Ms. White is the former president of the Macon Young Lawyers Association, served two terms with the State Young Lawyers board of directors, and still holds a seat with numerous legal affiliations. She is noted for being a former Goodwill Gala committee member and one of the attorneys selected for the William Augustus Bootle Inn of Court. Much of her time is devoted to the Central Georgia Alzheimer's Association, due to her father's development of Alzheimers when he was 62 years old. He passed away just five years later, and Ms. White has since dedicated both time and resources to curing his disease. "My goal is to make Alzheimer's disease as visible as other diseases," said Ms. White. "I want to make a difference any way I can."
In the community of Macon, Ms. White has become a powerful voice for the community, and she has made her home there as a well-known local lawyer. She was awarded the AV Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, as well as the 2015 and 2016 Rising Star honors in Social Security Law by Super Lawyers of Georgia. In addition, she has received 2012 and 2013 Awards of Achievement for Outstanding Service to the Public in the young lawyers division of the State Bar of Georgia, as well as 2015 and 2016 Client Distinction Awards. Ms. White intends to continue helping more people in the future and basking in the gratitude of her clients. She has established her home in Macon with her husband, Brannen L. Park, and in her free time, she enjoys travel, reading, fishing, and college football.
