After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1957, B. Michael Pallasch went with the Chicago Law Firm of Winston & Strawn where he advanced over time from the position of associate attorney to that of Senior Capital Partner. In 1963, he was selected to open and manage Winston & Strawn's first foreign branch office in Paris, France. His practice consisted of tax law, general corporate law, corporate finance law and international law. He handled many merger and acquisition matters for firms such as Cummins, Inc., Gould, Inc., Beatrice Foods Company and many others. After retiring from Winston & Strawn in 1991 Mr. Pallasch continued to practice for a number of years as the principal attorney of B. Michael Pallasch and Associates.
Mr. Pallasch received a B.S. degree from Georgetown University in 1954 and a J.D. degree from Harvard University in 1957 and completed postgraduate studies at the John Marshall Law School. He is licensed by the Bar of the State of Illinois and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals, the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Claims.
Mr. Pallasch married Josephine Catherine O'Leary in 1981. They have twin children Bernhard Michael III and Madeleine Josephine born in 1991.
Mr. Pallasch has served as a director and corporate secretary for a number of organizations including Green Bank Engineering Corporation, CBP Engineering Corporation, Arthur Andersen Associates, Inc., L'Hotel de France of Illinois, Chicago Cutting Service Corporation, and several others. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Martin D'Arcy Museum of Medieval and Renaissance Art and is currently serving as a director and officer of Tanis, Inc., and the Katherine M. Bosch Foundation, positions which he has held since 1972 and 1978, respectively. He was instrumental in the formation of the Hundred Club of Chicago, serving for 45 years as its corporate secretary; and he continues after 49 years to serve as a director of this organization which provides for the spouses and children of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders who lose their lives in the line of duty.
Mr. Pallasch served in the United State Air Force Reserve between 1957 and 1963. He has served as a tax lecturer for the Illinois Bar Association and is a life member of The Field Museum of Natural History and the National Rifle Association. He is also a long-time member of The Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation and the Saddle and Cycle Club of Chicago.
Mr. Pallasch has received numerous awards and decorations throughout his career. He is a Knight Grand Cross of The Sovereign Military Order of The Temple of Jerusalem, a Knight of Merit with silver star of The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George of the Royal House of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, and a Knight of Magisterial Grace of The Sovereign Military Hospitallier Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta. He was named youth mayor of the City of Chicago in 1950 and received the Outstanding Woodland Management Forestry Award from the Monroe County of Wisconsin Soil and Water Conservation District in 1975. He has been included in dozens of Who's Who publications for his many years of service. These include Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
