Dr, Pang is an associate professor of urology at the Guang An Men Hospital in Beijing, where he has served since his residency there in 1998. His recent research explores areas of non-surgical management of urinary incontinence, kidney stones, prostate cancer, neurogenic bladder, Paget's disease, as well as alternative treatments for the urinary system, including electrical acupuncture. Dr. Pang was named a 2014 Urodynamic Fellow by the International Continence Society, and received the 2011 and 2006 Science and Technological Award from the China Association of Chinese Medicine and the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine.
Born in Beijing, Dr. Pang studied at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to earn an MD in 1998, graduating from its PhD program in 2016. He served his residency at the Guang An Men Hospital in general surgery, before focusing his expertise on urology. In 2005, Dr. Pang was accepted to a clinical fellowship with Peking University in the department of urology, and in 2010, he joined a research fellowship with the nephrology laboratory of the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He briefly served as a visiting clinician at the clinic. Prior to his PhD, Dr. Pang joined Dalhousie University in Canada for a fellowship in urodynamics.
As an associate professor at Guang An Men, Dr. Pang serves as a physiotherapist, a consulting urologist, as well as an instructor. He is notably affiliated with the Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Beijing Association of Integrative Medicine, the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, the Chinese Society of Reserch-Oriented Hospitals, the Chinese Society of Sexuality, and the Beijing Medical Award Foundation. He has also collaborated internationally with the International Continence Society and the International Journal of Clinical Urology, where he serves as a member of the editorial board.
Dr. Pang has contributed numerous studies and papers to the field, and served as a grant reviewer for research projects. He has also received grants for research into combination therapy, prostate cancer, and stem cells, notably from the National Science Foundation of China and the Beijing Science and Technology Commission.
For achievements in the study of urology, Dr Pang was selected for inclusion in the 2016 volume of Who's Who in the World. He enjoys reading, travelling, swimming, badminton and the Chinese martial art of Kung Fu. Dr. Pang is married to Xinyao Zhou and has a son, Yizhou Pang.
