INAGI, JAPAN, October 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Kazutoshi Fujihira with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Fujihira celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Established in 1997, the ultimate goal of the Institute of Environmentology has been to solve or prevent environmental and social problems and achieve sustainable development or sustainability. As the founder and head of the institute, Mr. Fujihira has been focused on those two main topics: the environment and sustainability. Working to establish the science that supports this goal, Mr. Fujihira conducts research activities, which are either funded by his organization or in partnership with outside organizations, researchers, and collaborators. Following his research, Mr. Fujihira publishes the results of his findings in various books, journals, reports, and web pages, and conducts lectures and presentations, as well as workshops based on the educational programs that have been created through the organization.
Completing a Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo in 1978, Mr. Fujihira engaged in the planning of public buildings and supervising construction at Tama City Hall in Tokyo soon after. Before dedicating his time and efforts to the Institute of Environmentology in 1997, he also worked in local government.
In 2001, Mr. Fujihira conceived the idea of applying the science of "control" to this ultimate challenge of humankind. To deal with various sustainability issues by applying control science, he first demonstrated the basic control system for sustainability and the model of sustainability. In 2006, he started applying control science to education for sustainable development (ESD) and provided a methodology for ESD. Concentrating on energy environmental education, he then created effective educational programs for sustainable energy use and conducted a large number of education practices.
Mr. Fujihira is also author of several books; the first one, titled "Introduction to Environmentology," addresses, in the very first chapter, the fundamental question of "What is a human?" Originating from the following simple awareness of the issue that if humans did not exist, environmental problems would never occur, this book redefines humans, the root cause of environmental problems, and historically describes the mechanism of increase in human activities with an accelerated pace. Other books penned by Mr. Fujihira include "The Limits of Earth," "A Short Introduction to Environmentology," "Sustainable Development - Policy and Urban Development - Tourism, Life Science, Management and Environment," and "Complex Systems, Sustainability and Innovation." Mr. Fujihira has also published numerous research papers, many of which have focused on sustainable development.
Married to his wife Yoshiko Fujihira since 1988, Mr. Fujihira has been highlighted in several editions of Who's Who Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World for his accomplishments in the field. In 2015, he was also the recipient of a Japan Wooden Houses and Industry Association President Award, which was the result of Mr. Fujihira creating a methodology for promoting sustainable housing design.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Kazutoshi Fujihira has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
