Ms. Boggs has served in the legal industry for more than 27 years. She is the founding managing partner of Boggs, Avellino, Lach and Boggs, which she founded in 2008. She previously served as the managing partner of Boggs, Boggs and Bates, LLC from 2002 to 2008, and Boggs, Backer and Bates, LLC from 1999 to 2002, acting as the founder of both firms.
From 1995 to 1999, Ms. Boggs served as the managing partner of the St. Louis office of Landau, Omahana and Kopka, Professional Corporation. She was also an associate at LaTourette, Schlueter and Byrne and lawyer at Sandberg Phoenix and Von Gontard, working at each firm for two years. While in law school she worked as a clerk for R. Courtney Hughes and Associates in Carbondale, Illinois. Ms. Boggs also served as the former vice-chair of the American Bar Association's Law and Medicine Section and Corporation Counsel Committee.
In 1991, Ms. Boggs received her law degree magna cum laude from Southern Illinois University. While a student, she served as an editor of student articles in the Southern Illinois University Law Journal. The university awarded her as one of their most distinguished alumni in 2008. Ms. Boggs also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Governors State University in 1987. She was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1991, Missouri in 1992, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois in 1991, the U.S. District Court in Missouri in 2002, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois in Illinois 1997, and the U.S. District Court of Kansas in 2009.
Ms. Boggs has also served in academia as an adjunct professor at Webster University, where she worked from 1995 to 2005. Ms. Boggs has published articles in professional journals, including the Southern Illinois University Law Journal, the Illinois Bar Journal, the Journal of the Missouri Bar and the American Bar Association Magazine. She was also a contributor on rights and remedies and litigation settlements for the publication "St. Louis Lawyer."
Ms. Boggs serves as the communications committee chair to the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association. She was also a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the ABA, serving as the vice-chair of the corporate counsel committee and editor of the Corporate Counsel Newsletter from 1991 to 1992. She is an active member of the Women Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, the Missouri Bar, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Lawyers Association of St. Louis, the National Association of Women Lawyers, the St. Clair County Bar Association, the National Association of Insurance Women, the Transportation Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms.
Ms. Boggs is the daughter of Theodore Alan and Mary Ann Clemens. She has been married to T. Darin Boggs for 26 years. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, pickleball, ping pong, softball, and golf.
Ms. Boggs has received multiple awards and commendations for her outstanding achievements in her field. She was named one of the Lawyers of the Year by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2005. She was also the recipient of the President's Award by the Women's Law Association in 2014.
