An established writer and editor who spent the first half of her career in education, Ms. Wehrheim has since published 18 board books of Bible stories for toddlers, which were reviewed in the Philadelphia Enquirer. Her book, "The Baptism of Your Child: A Book for Presbyterian Families," which was originally released by Geneva Press in 2006, will be re-released again in 2018. Other books of hers include "Getting It Together: Spiritual Practices for Faith, Family, and Work" in 2002, "Giving Together: A Stewardship Guide for Families" in 2004, "Feasting on the Word: Children's Sermons for Year A" in 2016, and "Feasting on the Word: Children's Sermons for Year B" in 2017.
Also known for having co-edited "Growing in God's Love", a children's Bible story book, Ms. Wehrheim served as general editor for Feasting on the Word Curriculum from 2010-2017. Previously, she spent time as an associate readability editor for the Common English Bible (2011). Upon the completion of her Master's degree, Ms. Wehrheim served as the director of Christian education at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, MD, as well as Hammond Street Congregational Church in Bangor, ME, and St. John's United Church of Christ in Catonsville, MD, for a span of 10 years.
Teaching for a short time at Union 90 in Alton, Maine, Ms. Wehrheim became the director of Woods Memorial Child Development Center. In the late 1970s, she was a secretary for early child education at United Church Board of Homeland Ministries before serving as the assistant director of the doctor of ministry program at her alma mater, McCormick Theological Seminary, from 1979 to 1982. Graduating with a BA from Southern Illinois University in 1962, Ms. Wehrheim then completed an MA in Religious Education at McCormick Theological Seminary in 1964, where she has since been named Distinguished Alumni and previously served two terms as an alumni association representative on the board of trustees.
A life-time member of the American Association of University Women, where she was named Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1968, Ms. Wehrheim also remains active with the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators, where she was named Educator of the Year in 2001. Furthermore, Ms. Wehrheim was included in Who's Who in Religion and Who's Who of American Women.
