Mr. Korman is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia, as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and Supreme Court of the United States.
A widely renowned divorce attorney, Mr. Korman was named Family Lawyer of the Year in 2012 by Best Lawyers in America. In addition, he was named one of 50 Top Divorce Lawyers by Washingtonian Magazine in every year that list has been published between 1995 and 2017. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Korman has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and Who's Who in the World. He was most recently selected as the recipient of the William L. Prior to pursuing a career in family law, Mr. Korman attended the College of William and Mary, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. Upon completing a JD through The George Washington University in 1968, he began employment at Kinney, Smith and Barham as an associate. During this time, he also served the U.S. Army Reserve as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. From 1973 to 1978, Mr. Korman was recognized as a partner with Kinney, Smith and Barham. Since 1979, he has served as the president of Bean, Kinney & Korman, a full-service, multi-disciplinary law firm that provides versatile and experienced legal counsel to business and individual clients located throughout the District of Columbia metropolitan region.
In an effort to remain active and engaged in his areas of focus, Mr. Korman maintains involvement with the Arlington Bar Foundation, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and American Association for Justice. He is a recognized fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and American Bar Foundation. In addition, Mr. Korman has contributed numerous articles to professional journals pertaining to the area of family law. He was a member of the Board of Governors with the Family Law section of the Virginia State Bar, as well as a neutral case evaluator for the Fairfax Circuit Court.
