Earlier in his career, he joined Samsung in their information technology research and development center as a researcher. After two years in that position, he became a researcher for Electronic and Telecommunications Research Institute, and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. Additionally, he has lent his expertise to Chonbuk National University's division of electronic and information engineering, the IT Convergence Institute at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and Inha University, in their Department of Computer and Information Engineering.
A graduate of prestigious Korea institutions, Dr. Jo holds an undergraduate degree and a PhD. In order to remain active and engaged among his professional circles, he affiliates himself with the IEEE, where he is an associate member. Throughout his career, he has contributed his vast breadth of knowledge to the creation of automatic text classification, clustering and summarization systems, and in excess of 130 research papers.
An expert in his field, Dr. Jo has been awarded on numerous occasions for his professional accomplishments, earning an Outstanding Paper Award through the International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology, and an Achievement Award through the 2017 World Congress in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Applied Computing. In the coming years, Dr. Jo intends to experience the continued upward trajectory of his career.
