At the start of his career, he worked as a research scientist, and has since become a technical advisor for the Molecular Bioeffects Branch of the Bioeffects Division, of the 711th Human Performance Wing in the Airman Systems Directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and Wright State University, Dr. DelRaso holds a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology, a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology, a Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Having published more than 30 articles in professional publications, two book chapters, and being granted a patent, Dr. DelRaso's research has covered activities associated with the development of a biotechnological approach to the identification of organ-selective biomarkers regarding the toxic effects of chemical exposure in military personnel, and the application of metabonomics to distinguish human cognitive performance at a molecular level with the use of non-invasively obtained biofluids.
