Dr. Park is a noted information scientist in Republic of Korea and a senior researcher at the National Information Society Agency (NIA) in Daegu Metropolitan City. His work has contributed greatly to the establishment of ICT policy and industrial development in Republic of Korea, including using radio frequency identification to improve ubiquitous commerce and consumer trust, research in a dynamic diffusion model for managing customer satisfaction, develop method to assess and manage an organization's green IT maturity, as well as research in the dynamic effects of government policies on the Korean telecommunication services market.
A native of Seoul, Dr. Park was born to Yoong Woong Park and Eul-Choon Kim in 1973, and attended the Korea Aerospace University to earn a BA in 1996. He served for Republic of Korea Airforce to the rank of captain from 1996 to 2001 in the Airforce Academy and was honored with both a 1999 Chief Airforce Academy Award and a 1996 Chief General Staff Prize by the institution. Concurrently, Dr. Park matriculated at the Chungbuk National University to earn an MBA in 1999 and a PhD in 2004. He served as principle consultant with Solideo Systems Company Limited in Seoul from 2002 to 2004 building public administration software. Dr. Park served with the University of Nebraska as a visiting scholar from 2006 to 2007, and as part time faculty with Chungbuk National University.
Dr. Park briefly joined the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute in Daejeon, Republic of Korea, before he was welcomed by the NIA in 2007. The agency has been instrumental in creating an information infrastructure in Korea and promoting the information culture through technological application in business. Dr. Park is also the author of the book "Ubiquitious Computing" and "Media Seminar" and translator of "Listening to the Volcano."
He has contributed numerous papers to the information science field and won a 2008 Outstanding Paper Award. Dr. Park has worked with the Systems Dynamics Society in Boston as an international conference reviewer in 2003, and has maintained membership with the Korea Systems Dynamics Society as well as the Korea Society MIS. Dr. Park is married to Yong-Sook Choe, and has two children, Jae-Young and Sun-Ha.
