During her legal career which has spanned over 35 years, Ms. Ebert served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, in their Appellate Division, a Prosecutor for the City of Park Ridge and a Trial Attorney, first for Hartford Insurance Company and then with Carl H. Ebert & Associates, a law firm founded by her father Carl H. Ebert, where she continues today. She also served as an adjunct law professor at John Marshall Law School.
Ms. Ebert attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1976, and a Master of Science in 1977. She then attended John Marshall Law School, Chicago, where she received her J.D. with Honors in 1979. During her attendance at John Marshall, Ms. Ebert was a member of the John Marshall Law Review and also served as a mentor.
Regan D. Ebert's professional and honorary affiliations over the years have included both membership and committee participation in the Chicago Crime Commission and their Organized Crime Committee, Chicago Bar Association and their Defense of Prisoners committee, The American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Women's Bar Association of Illinois and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
Ms. Ebert has been recognized many times for her impressive work in the law and related fields and has been featured in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who of American Lawyers, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders, and Who's Who in America.
In her spare time Regan D. Ebert has been actively involved in charitable endeavors, including the formation of two charitable organizations, The Farm Thoroughbred Adoptions NFP, a charity established for rehabilitation of retired and injured thoroughbred horses where she has also served as Legal Advisor and the Edward Gallagher Scholarship Fund, NFP, a charity established to fund college education for children of law enforcement officers, where she was also a member of the Board of Directors and Legal Advisor, as well as serving as Co-Chairman of the Publicity and Public Relations Committee.
Ms. Ebert also currently volunteers at Wright-Way Rescue, a no kill shelter, dedicated to caring for and finding homes for rescued dogs and cats.
Over the years Regan D. Ebert has also been actively involved in her local community, serving as a legal adviser to the Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce and as a member of their Board of Directors, where in addition to the foregoing, she was elected Secretary for two terms and Assistant Treasurer for one term. She also served as Chairman of their Nominating Committee and Co-Chairman of their Scholarship Committee.
Ms. Ebert has also been active in local politics, serving as a legal advisor to the 41st Ward Regular Democratic Organization and later the Maine Township Regular Republican Organization, where she also served as a member of their Board of Directors, as well as being elected Secretary for one term and Assistant Treasurer for one term. She also served as Co-Chairman of their Bylaws Committee.
In addition to the foregoing Regan D. Ebert served as an elected official for a four year term beginning in April 1993, having won election to the position of Maine Township trustee, for a four year term.
