Employed with a large law firm that utilizes 1,100 attorneys in offices across three continents, Weil was originally founded in 1931 and has since become a preeminent provider of legal services. A partner in the litigation department and member of the securities litigation practice, Mr. Carangelo specializes in complex commercial, securities, accounting, and corporate matters at the trial and appellate levels, as well as in criminal and regulatory investigations. Additionally, he has extensive experience defending class actions, including securities fraud litigations in both state and federal courts. In addition to litigating and supervising numerous pro bono matters and serving as a member of the Firm's Nominating Committee, Mr. Carangelo's nationwide litigation and counseling practice includes the representation of many industry-leading corporations, including AIG, Verizon Communications, Inc., and General Motors Corporation's audit committee.
Mr. Carangelo completed his undergraduate degree at Fairfield University in Connecticut in 1988, followed by a JD at New York Law School cum laude in 1991 where he was a managing editor of the New York Law School Law Review and was a member of the Executive Board of Moot Court. He is admitted to practice by the Connecticut and New York State Bar Associations, the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of the U.S. District Court of New York, the Second, Fourth, Ninth, and Federal Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Carangelo is Chairman of the Board of Health for the Town of Greenwich and is a member of the board of trustees for Brunswick School.
