Mr. Weon is known for his work as a global social activist in anti-corruption movements. He currently serves as chairman of the Anti-Corruption Civil Movement General Federation as well as the president of the Anti-Corruption National Broadcast. He founded the (G) Anti-Corruption Civil Movement General Federation, authorized by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of Republic of Korea, in 2014. This organization was founded in order to create an atmosphere of anti-corruption and to establish transparency and fair works of public officials. Since 2013, Every 9 December, the organization hosts a national ceremony, where more than 300 organizations participate, to honor UN International Anti-Corruption Day at National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. More than 100,000 comrades have participated in the anti-corruption campaigns nationwide, and he is currently working to further develop an international network with anti-corruption social movements and activists.
Additionally, Mr. Weon is the publisher of the Journal of Anti-Corruption National Broadcast. He previously served as a professor at the Daejeon Health Institute of Technology, having graduated from Han-Yang University with a Master of English Literature in 1984. He pursued a career in civil social organizing because he wanted to devote himself to his community and country.
Mr. Weon was recognized with an Aquamarine Stripes Order of Service Merit by the Republic of Korea in 2012 in addition to a Plaque of Appreciation by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Korea in 2002. Married to Myung-Hee Kim, he is the proud father of two children, Hyun-Jung Weon and Eun-Sok Weon, who is also listed in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Weon attributes his success to his beloved family, and especially to all of the love and support he received from his wife.
