He holds the position of director of the division of operative gynecology and the title of Full Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, D.C., until the time of his retirement in 2001. After retirement, Prof. Ostrzenski continues practicing gynecologic surgery, teaching surgeons from all over the globe, and doing clinical-scientific research at the Institute of Gynecology, Inc., St. Petersburg, Florida, U.S.A. He has also received the title of associate professor of clinical gynecology and obstetrics at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Prof. Dr. Ostrzenski has been a gynecologic surgeon and reproductive endocrinology physician in the Washington, D.C. area from 1982 to 2001, and is best known as an expert and expert coordinator at the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) on minimal access surgery, endoscopy, and surgical techniques. He is renowned for discovering the anatomical G-spot existence and its anatomical role in female sexual response cycle; is renowned for discovering new anatomical structures within the female genitalia, which were used in the development of new surgical interventions.
Prof. Ostrzenski was awarded the title of "Father of Modern Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology" by the India Cosmetic Gynecology Society, and his newly developed surgical techniques have been used to train surgeons all over the world. Prof. Ostrzenski held a visiting professor appointment at numerous institutions of higher education, including one of the most prestigious: Universita degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza", Rome, Italy.
Born in Poland, to Pawel and Waleria Dzimira. Prof. Ostrzenski graduated from the Wrocalw Academy of Medicine (also known as the Wroclaw Medical University) in Poland with a Doctor of Medicine in 1966 and a Ph.D. in 1971. As a high school student, he studied under Reverend Tadeusz Kleszcz, Master in History and Reverend Jan Twardowski, a celebrated Polish poet and both emphasized in their teaching the values of honesty, helping those in need, and self-discipline. He repatriated to the U.S. (the U.S. citizen born in Poland) in the late 70s. He received U.S. training in the obstetrics and gynecology field as a resident at the Buffalo State University of New York (SUNY).
While teaching and conducting research, Prof. Ostrzenski also earned a Doctor Habilitant degree from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Cracow, Poland (the scientific degree allowing independent teaching, independent supervising Ph.D. programs, and the independent practice of gynecology and obstetrics). Later, the Jagiellonian University invited him as a visiting professor. He received a Doctor Honoris Causa from Thomas More University in Rome, Italy in 2017 for his contribution to progress in medicine.
Prof. Ostrzenski is a retired diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He served as a co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Prenatal and Perinatal Medicine and Psychology as well as the International Journal of Prenatal and Perinatal Studies, and served on the advisory editorial board of The Polish Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy. Prof. Ostrzenski authored numerous scientific-clinical articles in the most prestigious peer reviewed medical journals in his field, professional publications, educational textbooks, and chapters in textbooks. Notably, he is the author of "Gynecology: Integrating Conventional, Complementary, and Natural Alternative Therapy" and Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy (the very first presentation of this surgical technique in the world).
Prof. Ostrzenski has served the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics in a wide range of capacities, including acting as an expert, expert coordinator, and member of the advisory panel on surgical techniques and endoscopy and minimal access surgery. He has served the organization as a member of the Assessment of New Technology Subgroup on Gynecological Endoscopy, and is recognized as an honorary member of the Polish Gynecological Society, and Honorary President of the Polish Society of Plastic Gynecology. He is also a member in good standing of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics in the U.S.A.
Prof. Ostrzenski was honored as International Man of the Year and Man of Achievement for Contributions to Progress in Medicine in 1995 and 1996, and was commended with the Silver Medal in 1973 by the Wroclaw Polish Patent Bureau. He was honored with an appointment with the Research Board of Advisors of the American Biographical Institute. Other notable awards include a Medal from the International Falloppius Society, a Clinical Research Award by the Turkish-German Gynecologic Association, and a Medal Award entitled "Father of Modern Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology" by the India Society of Cosmetic Gynecology in 2017. He also received the award of the scientific degree of Doctor Medicine Honoris Causa by Thomas More University, Rome, Italy.
