SEOUL, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Heui Jae Pahk has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Pahk is recognized as one of Korea's top experts in mechanical engineering and displays. He is the founder and CEO of SNU Precision Co, begun in 1998 to manufacture semiconductor and display manufacturing equipment, being listed in KOSDAQ since 2005. He has served as a professor of mechanical engineering at Seoul National University since 1993, and as the national CTO and president of the Republic of Korea's Office of Strategic Research and Development Planning at the Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy since 2013. Additionally, he is chairman of the board of the Youth Hope Foundation, chairman of the Korean Association for industrial Technology security, and a senior member of the National Academy of Engineering. He has also worked as an assistant professor at Pohang University of Science and Technology from 1991 to 1993.
Dr. Pahk began his career by obtaining a BS and MS in Design and Production Engineering from Seoul National University before traveling to the United Kingdom to earn a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1990. He holds more than 80 patents, has published more than 200 technical papers for domestic and international journals and proceedings, and is the translator of "Theory and Design for Mechanical Measurements, published in 2007.
Dr. Pahk has been recognized throughout his career for his contributions. In 2004, he received a Presidential Decoration in recognition of his innovative work in technology. He was also the recipient of the Global CEO Award by Forbes Korea in 2014, the IR52 Jang Young Sil Award in 2004 and 2013, and the Grand Prize for 100 Innovations for Korea by the National Academy of Engineering in 2010. In addition, he was recognized as a Role Model by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2006 and as a Young Scientists/Engineer by the National Academy of Engineering in 2006. He was honored with the 70 Million Dollars Export Tower in 2015, and Seoul National University commended him with an award for his contributions to the College of Engineering and the Kwanak Grand Prix Award by the Alumni Association in 2005. He was also commended with an award of excellence by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy on five different occasions and has been honored as a fellow of the Korea Society of Mechanical Engineering and the Korea Society for Precision Engineering.
